Performance at Annabel's

Here is a video of me performing at Annabel's discotheque in August 2008, Sam is having problems uploading the video of my student's dance so you will have to wait for that one!

Bye Bye

Just a very quick blog to say I'm just about packed and almost ready for our holiday tomorrow. I had a great weekend at my friends wedding in London and spending some time with my Mum. I had a bit of an disaster with the dress I was wearing as despite my long legs the dress was still much longer than me and I managed to step through the chiffon about 5 times! It was an emergency cellotape shop once we arrived in St Pancras as I had my first mishap on the way to get the train. Mia - get your sewing needle ready! Apart from that the wine and champagne was free flowing all afternoon and into the night and we had a fabulous time. Beth looked lovely and the Barbican centre was a great venue as we had a tropical paradise in amongst the plants and the rain was kept outside! It was great to spend some time with Mum as well. After the horrendous journey on Friday we arrived to good home made lasagne and champagne and on the Sunday Mum spoilt us to a fabulous lunch. She is really pleased for us both and is already getting ideas about what we can do for our wedding. I'm sure Sam and Jo will look after you all in my absence and look forward to seeing you all in about 3 weeks.

Ta ta for now xxx

My Engagement!

Well I'm still on cloud 9 and taking it all in..Yes Steve & I have got engaged. He has been secretly plotting with some of my friends for several weeks now and I honestly had no idea what was happening. I'd been expecting to go to the cinema on Tuesday night with Steve and a couple of his mates who were coming up from St Asutell when Jason (Steve's best mate) rang me to say they weren't all able to come up due to car trouble. I tried to talk Jason into coming up on his own as I knew Steve would like to see him but he managed to wriggle out of that as unbeknown to me that was part of the plot. Steve then emailed me to say Jason had just rung him with the same news and that as it was a nice evening he'd booked us into our favourite restaurant The Ship Inn at Noss Mayo. I was quite happy with that as I love it there and Steve had said it was going to be high tide which we both love and the last few times we've been the tide has always been right out. So off we go for our evening meal. We had a lovely time, munched our way through starters and main and I'd spotted the massive Strawberry pavlova which I persuaded Steve we just had to have. Coffee came and I was sat watching our lovely waiter carrying some champagne across the room which I suddenly became aware had been planted firmly on our table. I still had no idea and was asking Steve what the occasion was when out came the ring and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I had no hesitation in saying yes and was still trying to take it in as I was starring at the most fabulous engagement ring. I was trying to compose myself when I had another surprise and some of our closest friends appeared to share in our night - including Jason. It was truly special and romantic night and I totally didn't expect it. Now I know why our waiter kept smiling at us all night and Steve had disappeared to the loo twice to obviously check on everyone. Apparently he was a nervous wreck all day hoping all the plans would come in place and they did. It was slighly unfortunate that my best friend who had helped Steve arrange a lot of it broke down outside of Exeter as her drive belt went and she had to get towed back to Bristol and never made it. I had a truly fabulous night though and thanks to all my friends who made it. And obviously thanks to my future husband to be Steve for surprising me and proposing in such a romantic way and making a special night for us both..I love you very much. XXX

All the Art of dance instructors were also in on the plot but were not able to join us as was a busy night opening the new Torquay venue and covering back in the Plymouth studio. Not to worry though as we will be having an engagement party and are looking to combine this with my birthday on Sat 25th October. We're looking to hold at Annabel's so that everyone can come along and then stay and party after so watch this space.

Steve and I are off to my Mum's in Bedford today as I have my best friend from school's wedding in London on Saturday. I know my Mum will be feeling a little sad today as it is her and Dad's wedding anniversary so this is the first anniversay since losing Dad last November. I'm hoping though she can think of the fond memories they had and I know she is looking forward to seeing Steve & I tonight. She is really excited for both of us and looking forward to seeing my ring. As some of you know from class last night I wasn't able to show anyone yesterday as unfortunately despite choosing our design together a few months ago and having the ring specially made for us they still managed to make it 2 sizes to big! I was able to wear it on the night but we had to take it back to Exeter on Wednesday to resize it. We are hoping it will be ready today so we can collect on the way through to Bedford this afternoon so I can show my Mum tonight and some of my frieds who will be at the wedding on Saturday as well. I'm looking forward to that as I haven't seen my friend Beth (the bride) for a few months now and I love a good excuse to get dressed up. The weddding is being held in the Barbican centre in London and looks like it will be a lovley venue - good job it is indoors as I think the weather is going to be pretty horrendous.

Once back from the wedding I only have a couple of days of work before Steve & I head off to Egypt for our 2 week break. We are both so looking forward to relaxing and spending a well earned break together. I am teaching in Exeter this Monday night and then that is me done for a few weeks. I'm not sure who will be covering in Plymouth but I'm sure it will be either Sam or Jo - so ladies watch out as they will work you extra hard! I'll be back in Exeter on 29th Sept and then it will be October when I am back in the Plymouth studio.

I think that is most of my news for now. As you know I danced at the recent social at Annabel's and one of my Exeter students also performed a stunning routine that she had in the main choreographed herself. She used the music beautifully and we were all really impressed and she has agreed that she will show case at our birthday event that Sam is trying to organise. There is some video footage of our performances so I will get a copy and put up on my blog for you all to see.

Must go now as off to town to get my hair trimmed.

see you all soon

Full Monty & More Pictures from Devon Car Show

Firstly a big congratulations to Phil, Mark, Mick, Mike, Tony and Brian (aka) the Full Monty for their show stopping performance last Sunday night. You'll have seen from our blogs that I had been choreographing their routine for them with expert help from Sue in the art of seductive clothing removal and I'm pleased to say that all the hard work and rehearsals paid off - they never even needed my prompt cards I'd written up for them! Sue, Sam and I were all in the front row to cheer them on and they did us all proud. Steve had also come down with me to support the night but I think he was secretly a little relieved when they started early and he was able to lurk at the back whilst I rushed to my front row viewing. We each received a lovely bouquet of flowers for our support which are stilling looking great in my living room. Thank you guys. I've also now heard that the guys are in hot demand so you never know there may be a Full Monty on tour....

As promised here are some more photos from the Devon Car show last Sunday. I'd like to say a big thank you to one of my Exeter students, Nicole Windley who came down to support us all and for the lovely photos she has taken. Nicole has quickly progressed since coming to my Exeter classes and shares the love and passion for pole dance like I and my fellow instructors do. It is great to see such enthusiasm in Nicole and indeed many of you that come to our classes and to know that you enjoy it so much and give us such support. Nicole even braved the wobbly pole on Sunday as she just couldn't resist showing off her moves. Well done Nicole!

The day turned out to be great fun for me in the end. I was a little worried about where we were pitched originally as we were at the far end of the event so I wasn't sure if people would come down and get to see us, but as the day progressed we were drawing the crowds and getting some great comments. So much so that we got moved to the main stage in the afternoon where Sam & I got up and strutted our stuff. My performance got slightly interupted by one of the Fuel girls dominating the front of the stage with not a lot on! - but otherwise it went well and I loved being up there in front of the crowd. Jo has taken some video footage of Sam & I so hopefully this will come out ok and we'll be able to post for you..naked lady and all!

All in all it was a good day as the weather was the hottest and sunniest it has been for ages and it was great to spend some time together with Jo, Hayley, Sam, Sue and her lovely daughter Rose. My sunburnt shoulders were still giving off heat on Tuesday morning and I've discovered are now peeling this morning. I think we all got a little bit burnt from being out in the sun and not able to wear sun tan lotion and were all a bit achy from the day's performance. My back in particular has been quite sore and playing up a bit more since Sunday so have been back to the osteopath this week to help work it out. I know Sam & Jo were especially feeling it as they had performed the previous Saturday and then again on the Thursday night in Raffles as part of the fund raising week. I managed to catch their last performance when I came over after teaching and what a performance they gave on the spinning pole - both very different but stunning, fluid and inspirational - I felt a bit green watching especially Jo's "out of control!" sitting spin combination - Wow! Sue as ever was sensual and stunning performing her routine - loved the feather tassles!

Jo the lucky devil has escaped to Egypt to go diving with hubby - so jealous but then it is only 6 weeks before Steve & I head out there. We're waiting for the MRI scan results for Steve's back so not sure we'll get so much diving in as his back isn't right but hopefully we'll be able to manage some dives. We're looking forward to our trip to Cairo as well as we've booked to fly there to see the pyramids - neither of us have yet seen this spectacular sight so we're looking forward to that and relaxing in the sun.

Sam is covering Jo's classes this week and I'll be in on my usual nights of Exeter on the Monday and Thursday in Plymouth. I'm also taking the Friday night class this week so hopefully get to see you then.

Good luck to Sid today for his open day for Plymouth's first Cage Den.

see you all soon

Still Aching!

Well if you've already read Sam's blog, you will know she had us on a staff training event on Friday with Rob Green trying our hand at Parkour I wasn't really sure what to expect especially being our first attempt at it but Rob soon had us all warmed up and rolling onto the floor in safe landing positions, jumping over hurdles and running up walls. It was a great team building session as we had plenty of laughs watching each other run like mad at the obstacle either to run into it, half land on it and roll off or sort of get over it and disappear down the other side in some sort of heap. After a few attempts though we were all pretty much there and flying over the box and up the wall. I felt quite invigorated from it ...then I sat down when I got in and realised that maybe I wasn't as fit as I thought. My back was aching and my right knee had a very slight twinge. Turning up at the studio on Saturday morning and comparing notes with Sam, Jo and Mia we all were feeling the after effects and Sam also had a strap on her right knee! It's Sunday morning now and my back still hurts and my left shin is now aching! Still really enjoyed the session - thanks Sam.

As mentioned I was in the studio Saturday morning to take the second part of a hen party. We had a great time as we learnt some of the Ashanti routine I have done with some of you. Sue and I were then putting the gentlemen from Raffles through their paces. I've been choreographing the Full Monty routine for them along with Sue's expert help and advice of how to take articles of clothing off. We are getting there but need a few more rehearsals to get the routine a bit more slick and in time!! Still the guys are doing a great job and Sue & i are having fun working with them. They will be performing at Raffles to raise money for St Lukes on Sunday 27th July from 8pm - hope to see some of you there.
The art of dance have a busy week that week as some of the staff will be performing at Raffles on the Thursday evening, (I'm teaching that night but might pop in and say hi after classes if you've not all worn me out!!) we are off watching Flash Dance on the Friday evening, there is a pole Jam on the Saturday 26th from 12noon-4pm, we are performing at the Devon Car show on the Sunday and then the Full Monty on Sunday evening. Check out the events pages for full details of what we have lined up - going to be a good, fun but tiring week. I'll have also been to Gatwick for work on the Tuesday so that usually means I get about 3 hours sleep on the Monday night and spend about 10hours or so on the train for the day - not looking forward to that as it takes me all week to recover!
I've had the decorators in this week and they'll be back to finish off next week. I'm having a radiator moved to free up one of our walls and getting some of the dodgy electrics sorted out. There are some real bodgit DIY jobs that we are discovering. When my plumber went to fix the new radiator to the wall all the plaster just fell off to reveal lovely art deco type wall effect. Seems that the plaster had just been slapped on the top and not sealed so as soon as you touched it, it all came down. As it's behind a door we'd not had a need to use the wall so hadn't discovered the problem til now. There is also a blank plate where the light switch should be in the living room and we've discovered that the whole cable has been ripped out rather then just isolating the switch so we will need to run a whole new cable in which means taking floor boards up. Think we'll live with it a while longer til we look at doing upstairs. Hopefully when these are done we'll get the room looking nicer and I'll look to get new carpets for the living and dining room.

I've been having a fairly quiet weekend so far (mainly because of my aching muscles) which will continue this afternoon. Steve & I are thinking of going to see Hancock tonight - which I will enjoy as I'm a bit partial to Will Smith - although of course he isn't a patch on Steve. It will be a good excuse to pig out on popcorn and sweets which will be just as well as I'll need all the energy for my busy week ahead. As well as the day job, I'm teaching in Exeter on Monday, back in the Plymouth studio for my normal Thursday and I'm taking the class on Friday night this week and a hen party Saturday morning.
Hope to see some of you during the week. Have fun til then.

Sequence Class - this Friday 6.15pm

Hi all

Just to let you know if any of you missed the Ashanti Only U sequence I did for our recent masterclass day I will be teaching this routine this Friday evening (27th June) at 6.15pm. We have limited it to only 6 places to ensure you have a pole each. The routine is dance focused with a couple of tricks so suitable for all levels so don't worry if you can't perform the tricks yet - it can be adapted. My last blog includes a video form the girls at my masterclass for a sneak preview.

I'm teaching as usual tonight so see you later or maybe at the sequencing class and hopefully I will get that footage of Nixi and I sorted this weekend from RTTS - just never enough hours in my day!

Update at last!

Been a bit slack of late on the blog front so I know Sam will be happy I've done an update for you all.
So what have I been up to this last month..well if you've read Nixi's blog and seen either of us you will know we danced at the Run to the Sun festival in Newquay at the end of May. I've been dancing there for years now - it's a bit like an annual reunion for me - all the crew together - cramped in a small caravan, costumes and bodies everywhere - no sleep because the tent/caravan has the same song playing over and over at full volume at 5am when you've finished work and want to get to sleep - but I love it and love the people I work with. This year was great as Nixi and i got a chance to show case our talents on the pole and we went down a treat with the crowd and crew and management alike..we've already been booked in for next year!!! Nixi's desperate I know to see the photos and some footage I took on my camera so I'll have an excuse to do another blog shortly and put those up for you all.
Much of the rest of my time has been dominated by my main job. It's really busy at the moment and I'm in the office the rest of this week and then I'm off to my Mum's in Bedford on Friday to join her for the weekend for her birthday. It is actually tomorrow but she flys back from her 2 week holiday then so I'll spend time with her at the weekend. I have had various updates in texts from her during her stay and considering this is the first holiday abroad on her own since losing Dad she has made friends and been enjoying herself. I'm looking forward to some mother and daughter time!
My slave driver..Sam.. has had me in teaching additional private classes in the Plymouth studio as well as my usual Thursday night and Exeter on a Monday and on top of all that booked me in for a sequencing master class a week ago Sat. I must admit I didn't have a lot of spare time to put it together and even on the Thursday night before the Sat I still hadn't decided on my song - but in a couple hours of creative thinking on the Friday I ended up with a great routine to Ashanti - Only U. For those of you brave enough to try my last Master class to Madonna's Hanky Panky - you'll have certainly noticed I try and keep things very different each time - this time preferring to do a slower more dance and body movement focussed routine - with the odd killer move.. beginners hand stand anyone! Check out the video for the girls from Saturday's masterclass - think you'll agree they did rather well! Well done to Sarah Bunting as well for like me surving Nixi's killer Yoga, my sequencing and then Sam's advanced torture hour!
I've since taught the routine in Exeter and I have just tonight finished the last minute of the song with my girls so they successfully danced a routine to a whole song - well done Julie, Olivia, Jo, Holly and Nicola i'm very proud. Sam has asked me to look at holding further sequencing classes so look out for some more dates for these. We'll restrict it to only 6 to a class so you have a pole each and I might even start to go over a few of the old routines so if you missed one and wanted to do it you might be able to pop along next time.
Well I must get to bed now. Catch up with you all soon and I'll try and not leave it so long

Podium Dancing

hi all

Well it's been a hectic couple of weeks for me with my main work. I've been up to Birmingham for a team meeting which meant a very early start for me - trust me I'm not usually a morning person!
I've had a really great weekend in the Plymouth studio. I was teaching my normal Thursday night and then had 2 classes on Friday eve and a further hen party on Saturday morning before Nixi then stretched me out in her flexibility class. I'm putting together my routine to teach you for my sequencing Masterclass next Saturday at 1.30pm. I'm quite excited about it as I'm doing something fun, and a little faster than my last routine to be in complete contrast and trying a few different tricks in it. Don't worry if you're not that advanced I'm structuring it so that everyone will be able to do the dance elements and the tricks can be adapted to whatever level you are working at whether beginner or more advanced - hope to see some of you there.
Thought I'd just share with you a video of my audition/warm up set of my club dancing in Berties from a week ago on Saturday night. Many of you know I used to be a part time club dancer - some of you may even have seen me in Destiny's - but since that shut I haven't really done my club dancing having found my new passion of Pole dancing with the Art of Dance. I've really missed it so was great when Berties asked me to dance for them after they have done a bit of a refit of the club. I'll be there on Sat nights for a while until the summer so if you ever venture down to Newquay come and say hello. The podium is a bit small and has a wall directly behind me but otherwise all went well considering it's been over 2 years and I'll be 34 this year!. I even managed to get a pole move in....

Face of Exeter performance

Hello all

Firstly a huge welcome back to Julie who attends my Exeter classes - (gold star to me as I remembered to call her Mrs Julie Morgan!) but also a farewell to a couple of my students there -Jane & Kylie. Kylie is starting her own business so they both won't be attending for a few weeks whilst Kylie gets this up and running. Wishing you all the best with your new venture Kylie and hurry back - we'll all miss you and your Mum.

I'll be seeing you all again next week and Kelly will be in again shadowing me. I think you'll agree she did a fantastic cool down last week and will be a great asset to the Art of Dance. I had a great session with Sam and Kelly yesterday going through our syllabus and going over some moves - I even achieved a new one myself so watch out!

Thought you might like to see the video of myself performing at the Face of Exeter model competition last September. It took me forever to work out how to turn it the right way up on my computer as my friend had recorded it sideways on my camera! Sam and I were both asked to perform as part of the fashion and hair show and I was the opener to the show. Hope you enjoy.

See you all soon

Bits & Pieces & Inverts masterclass

Well it takes me a while and then you get a couple of posts in the one week - you can tell I'm off work this week and have a bit more time to do my blog.
Nixi and I caught up and had some time going through our moves in the studio on Tuesday and earning a few more bruises from the session we did at the weekend. Check out the videos Sam has put up of all the instructors practising together - i think you'll agree a pretty good bunch we are!!
Whilst in the studio a couple of our students coming in for their lesson mentioned the photos I had taken from our Spearmint Rhino night the week before Xmas - so just for you here are a couple of the photos from the night ...better late than never and a reminder of the old studio!

Don't forget our master class day this Saturday. I'm taking the 11am class covering inverts. If you have just started inverting or are now working on the likes of the gemini, scorpio, mantis, chopper - then this class is for you as I'll be looking at your technique and helping you improve your hold of these moves and give some variations on the basics. It will also give you an opportunity to test your strength and stamina doing a whole hour dedicated to inverts - believe me it's more tiring than you may think!

see you soon xxx

Congratulations Julie!

For those of you that know one of my students Julie Bowden from both the Plymouth and Exeter studio - a big congratulations to her and her partner Tim who tied the knot this Saturday. I'll now have to get used to calling her Mrs Julie Morgan - which for those of you who know me is never an easy thing as I have a real problem remembering names.
Well I love an excuse to dress up and Steve & I were lucky enough to be invited to join the wedding party at the beautiful Orestone Manor at Maidencombe. Julie looked stunning and every bit the beautiful blushing bride - what a lucky guy Tim is.

Despite the rain (dashing from the taxi in a long evening dress was a hilarious sight indeed) the warmth of the Manor's real wood fire ensured everyone was kept nice and cosy. The Manor had a real Colonial house feel about it, the food was excellent and staff lovely. Steve was really able to enjoy himself as being a DJ he is always working on a Saturday night and it was great to have the night off together and no cheesy wedding DJ to put up with either as Tim's Mum and her band entertained us throughout the night. It really is an impressive sight seeing someone playing the double bass these days and they were a joy to listen to and the perfect compliment to a stylish and classy wedding. I know Julie and Tim are off on their honeymoon today so I do hope they have a relaxing few days away.

No time away for me although I do have a few days off my main work this week so Steve and I will get a chance to get a few chores down (yawn) but hopefully get out and about a bit - weather permitting. We took a leisurly drive back through Torquay, Paignton and via the Dartmouth ferry yesterday stopping on route for a few drinks and stretching our legs and the obligitary cream tea at Dartmouth. There were several people out crabbing which reminded me of my childhood. I used to love throwing the line into the sea and trying to pull the crabs up before they fell off or knocked each other off. Of course we always put them back after - they were never really big enough to eat anyway! We might try and take Steve's kids crabbing at some point - or is that take me to do it..sometimes you just never grow up!!

I'm looking forward to teaching in Exeter tonight and seeing all my regular students - first week back after being shut on the Bank Holiday Monday. A big welcome to our new instructor Kelly who will be shadowing me in class tonight. Kelly has a wealth of experience and will be looking to take a further class in Exeter and possible Torquay as this is her home town.
See you all soon and as I'm off work haven't sent me anywhere this week so I'm back in to see my Thursday night students in Plymouth as well.

Hectic Weekend!

What a fantastic start to the weekend with our student social at Annabel's on Friday night. Jo's blog gives the full low down and I completely agree with her comments - I think the instructors and students that performed did a fantastic job and are a real credit to the Art of Dance.
I was a sucker for punishment the next day as I took an invert masterclass at 12.15. Well done to my ladies who turned up for this and especially as two of them then stayed on with myself to do Nixi's dance class - we were starting to feel the effects of an hour upside down when Nixi was telling us to be relaxed and flowing! Still another great dance class by Nixi and I must have been mad but really enjoyed Jo's hour of terror. I actually managed not to wimp out of the shoulder mounts - yes I know I'm a bit of a wimp when I know it's going to hurt. Mia if you're reading - well done and Jo says I have to make you do it this Thursday...so be warned!!! Well after 3 hours in the studio - it wasn't over for me as I was back in teaching Saturday night. By the time I got home and put my feet up I think I was well deserving of that glass (well rather big glass)of red wine. A little indulgence while I gossiped to my friend Julia for nearly 2 hours - the only reason I stopped was my battery went flat!
Sunday was more relaxing. I didn't get to see my Mum as she is some 260 miles away so I had sent her a present and some roses which are her favourite flowers so she was chuffed when I spoke with her on the phone. My brother was spending the evening with her and she was seeing a friend in the afternoon so she was kept busy and spoilt. For those of you wondering my Mum is doing really well since we lost Dad in November last year and I'm really proud of her. She's been socialising with her friends more and she's even booked a 2 week holiday in June to Tenerife. It's still quite raw for her and she doesn't sleep much but she knows she has to move on as that is what Dad wanted. Love you Mum. xxx
Well Steve and I enjoyed a lovely lunch with his Mum and his family at Zucca's - for a set menu the food was rather good. We then took a stroll into town and bought a DVD to watch with his kids that evening as they were staying with us. Dinner was from the curry man that night so really indulged on Sunday - good job I put in all those hours on Saturday!
I had a crap night sleep last night so was pretty tired when I woke up but as the day progressed I felt ok and was ready and looking forward to my class in Exeter. Hello to our two new students Amanda and Tahnee - what a fantastic achievement for their first night. We worked more on arms tonight so I know you will all be aching tomorrow. I will see you all again next week and just an advance warning but we won't be holding a class on Easter Monday as Sweat & Stretch will be shut. I'll teaching my regular Thursday night in the Plymouth studio and anything else Sam sends my way!!!
Enjoy your week and see you all soon

Post Valentine!

Hi all

Well I was spoilt on our Valentine's night. Steve and I had a lovely evening at Tanners - splashed out on some pink bubbly (cost nearly half the price of our meal again) but worth it and then finished the night off with a couple more drinks at Mo-funk at Annabel's to then arrive home to some beautiful red roses. A lovely relaxing evening, great food and of course with my perfect man. I definately think it was worth going out the night before and not be in the throng on the day plus the bonus of having a chilled morning together and a long walk in the sunshine along the estuary at Tamerton Foliot before I came to teach in the evening.

For those of you that came in last Thursday for my sequencing class - thank you - I had so much fun with you all and it was great to see your outfits. I've had great feedback from several of you both from Thursday's classes (see some of the students performing the routine in the photo) and my Exeter students on the Monday night (you got to test it on the Monday) -so I'm glad you all enjoyed it so much. People often ask about how they can work on the dance element of pole dancing so this was a good challenge for me to focus on this and bring it into a short sequence with a couple of basic tricks. Let me know if you'd like to do some more sequencing as i can maybe look at this as an option for a future master classes.

If you are keen on the dance element then in this month's master classes Nixi is holding a further body isolation/sexy dance moves class at 1.30pm on Sat 1st March. I am also holding a class this day at 12.15pm covering basic inverts/ improving inverting/ gemini/scorpio and mantis - so hopefully see a few of you there. All classes are £10 and if you feel brave enough (well she is the Lordette of darkness!!!) Jo is also holding an advanced/world class moves session at 2.45pm.

I had a busy weekend just gone. I was teaching a private class Friday night and then we had the studio open Day on the Saturday. I came in for a couple of hours to support Jo and Sam and we had a steady flow of people through the door which we were able to spend time with and demonstrate various skills and tricks we all have. I know Sam has taken several more bookings for the Inductions so a great success and boost to the business.

I then drove to Bristol to spend the evening from one of my closest fiends Julia. She is fabulous - 51 and still loves her dance music. I have a lot of respect for Julia - she actually used to be my old boss at BT several years ago (and i was scared of her!!) and we then bacame the closest of friends. We were out at the Syndicate with 4 others - Dave Pearce was playing - a bit heavy for most of us but none the less an enjoyable night. i also caught up with one of the resident DJ's there as we used to work together when i was dancing at destiny's in Plymouth. Of course we had a good girly gossip the next day and put the world's to right - well sort of!

Must sign off now and get some shut eye - not long been in from teaching in Exeter and have a long day tomorrow - travelling to Gatwick as away for a couple of days for a team meeting (lots of minutes to type up I sense!) See you soon or Thursday night if you are in.

Sexy Valentine's Routine Thur 14th February

Hi all

Well it's not far off to Valentine's day and as it falls on a Thursday night I thought it would be nice to put a sexy little routine together to teach you in my classes that night. The idea is to have a "Valentine's Spearmint Rhino night" - a bit of fun while we learn the moves and perform to a specific song. To help you get in the mood on the night it would be fab if you could dress up in something red - maybe a sparkly red top, some red shorts, a red hair band - something you feel nice and sexy in rather than your usual work out kit. Unfortunately we won't be able to wear heels though because of our lovely new floor - so you'll just have to imagine those 6inch stiletto shoes - just think of the work out your calves will get being on your toes! Both classes are only £10 and can be booked in the usual way - Look forward to seeing you there.

In case any of you were worried I wasn't going to get to spend some time with my man Steve on Valentine's all is well because he is treating me to a meal at Tanners the night before and we can enjoy an evening out together. We can then have a relaxing and lazy Valentine's morning as I have taken the day off work before coming in to teach. What dedication!!!
We were hoping to utilise the vouchers my brother gave us for our Xmas present (a hot stone massage) but they weren't able to fit us in. We'll save those for another time - maybe after an advanced class with Sam again!. If you've read Sam and Jo's blogs already - yes Sam beasted us on Saturday so the muscles were a little sore on Sunday. I'd already had a good abs work out from going to Nixi's sexy dance moves masterclass an hour before so I was properly aching!. Even as an instructor it is always useful to learn off each other as we all have differing strengths and weaknesses so i found it really useful doing the body isolation as it really made we focus on my abs more with some of the body waves Nixi got us doing. Nixi will be holding a further class so watch out for the next master class on this - might even see you there!

I'm in for my usual Thursday this week in our Plymouth studio so see you then and back in Exeter at Sweat and Stretch on Monday. We had a really busy class last night-only one space left so make sure you book your space for this coming Monday. Hello to all our new people that have joined - it's great to see new faces and hoped you weren't too sore . As you'll have seen though even when you get more advanced you still get the aches and bruises.

Ta ta for now

Full of Cold!

First one of the year..but then we're not that far into the year yet!! I'm off to London with work on Tuesday and would much rather be in bed than spend 2 nights and days away from home and Steve on a training course - but I'm sure the course will be worth while. I won't see you guys this Thursday as I won't be back in time so be gentle to Sam as she's having to do 4 nights in a row so she might be a little bruised and sore by Thursday night - but i know that won't stop her so be prepared!!! I'll be back in for next Thursday as usual and obviously Exeter on Monday night - see you all soon.

Hello from Me

Hi all and Happy New year. I've just taken my first classes tonight in the New studio and think you'll agree what a fantastic venue we now have. I'm so pleased for Sam and so proud of her for building her business and providing such a safe, professional, friendly and supportive environment for us all to be in. It's brilliant to have such a great boss! All the hard work that sam and Jo in particular and all those that have helped create the new studio have put in has paid off - credit where credit is due. Unfortunately I haven't been around to help out what with family commitments at Xmas and now a new role at BT which currently is sending me to meetings all over the place - so no doubt they'll have lots of nice jobs lined up for me for phase 2!!!

Exeter is really picking up this new year. It's lovely to see so many of my regulars back for the new year and I had lots of new faces last Monday. Jane and Kylie - i promised to put this on ages ago and seeing as you'll be back this week I thought I better get with it! Jo Walters was shadowing me this week and did a great job and I'm sure will be popping in to class over the coming weeks. I have a few spaces for this Monday 21st although bookings and enquires and coming in fast so recommend to book to secure your place - hopefully i'll see you there.
